Get to know the Aboriginal culture better on Australia Day at this free workshop and performance session by the Aboriginal Diramu and Didgeridoo Dance troupe. You'll get to meet elder, Walangari Karntawarra and his performers as they take you on a journey of the oldest living culture in the world.
Activities include the following:
A smoking ceremony and acknowledgement of the traditional owners, sung in language with a welcome dance
A number of traditional dances with explanations of their meaning, accompanied by a didgeridoo virtuoso and songman
Dances interspersed with short snippets of cultural information about the didgeridoo, examples of ancient Aboriginal artefacts and bush foods, and medicines still growing wild in the local area

No bookings required, but due to Covid Safety measures, there might be limited spaces for people if the area is full. Social distancing and face masks are recommended. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
