Melbourne-based Affinity Quartet earns its place as one of the outstanding and most awarded string quartets of its generation.  Recent achievements include displaying Australian classical music at the World Expo Osaka and debuts at the Rheingau and Kuhmo Chamber Music Festivals in Europe.  Entering its second decade in 2026, the Quartet showcases some of today's most exciting musicians.  In a first appearance for the Sydney Mozart Society, Affinity is joined by guest artist award-winning violinist Emily Su (for Shane Chen) to perform two dramatic emotional works by Schubert:  the hauntingly beautiful Quartettsatz and the lyrical yet darkly intense Death and the Maiden.  Guest violist Isabella Bignasca - an Australian Chamber Orchestra Emerging Artist newly returned from New York’s Juilliard School and Carnegie Hall - joins Affinity to bring us Mozart’s innovative String Quintet, K 593.  This is a work of delightful charm, grace and bright spirited dialogue highlighting Mozart’s genius in crafting musical conversations.
