The International Youth Dance Competition (IYDC) Sydney 2026 makes its exciting Sydney debut at The Concourse, Chatswood, from 1–3 October 2026, bringing together young dancers for an inspiring celebration of dance, artistry and performance.
Since its launch, IYDC has successfully held live events across Singapore, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok, creating an international platform where young dancers can showcase their talents, learn from experienced dance professionals and connect with fellow dancers from different backgrounds.
Audiences are invited to enjoy IYDC Sydney’s competition sessions, featuring talented young dancers performing across a diverse range of genres, including Classical Ballet, Lyrical & Contemporary, Jazz, Cultural Dance and other dance styles. Participants range from our youngest dancers taking their first steps onto the competition stage to experienced young performers developing their technical and artistic abilities.
IYDC believes that a dance competition should be about more than rankings and medals. Our unique achievement-based awards system recognises each dancer according to their own performance and achievement, encouraging young performers to focus on personal growth, confidence and the joy of performing rather than comparison with others.
Beyond the stage, IYDC Sydney offers participants an enriching three-day experience incorporating workshops with international faculty, educational sessions on safe dance practices and injury prevention, and IYDC Synergy sessions designed to help dancers develop confidence, resilience and valuable mental tools for performance.
The event culminates in the IYDC Gala & Workshop Showcase, celebrating outstanding performances and giving our young dancers the opportunity to share what they have learned during their IYDC journey.
