St Andrew's Cathedral School’s production of Disney’s and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical brings this timeless classic to life with a combined cast and orchestra ensemble of 115 students. Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney Film, with original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, the story follows the Banks family who are deeply in need of a Nanny, and more desperately in need of each other. The musical includes audience favourites such as Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Let’s Go Fly a Kite but explores the story of Mr Banks more deeply than the film, incorporating additional material from Traver’s original literary series. Audiences of all ages will find themselves humming along with the spit-spot performances of a talented cast and delighting in the magical moments that fill this enchanting story, that is practically perfect in every way.
