Sophie Rowell is a distinguished violinist, whose career spans solo performance, chamber music, orchestral leadership and pedagogy. Pianist Kristian Chong is in demand as concerto soloist, solo recitalist and particularly as a chamber musician. Their musical prowess and an easy rapport honed over years playing together make them a formidable duo. They return with four canonical duo Sonatas. The exquisite gracefulness of Mozart's G major Sonata is paired with Brahms’ elegant yet passionate second Sonata. Beethoven's highly dramatic C minor Sonata is followed by Ravel's charming Blues Sonata, nicknamed due to its second movement being heavily influenced by the blues.
