The Sydney NorthWest Music Festival provides public school students with an opportunity to showcase high-quality musical performances, from soloists and small groups to larger ensembles, both vocal and instrumental. In addition, primary schools participate in the combined primary choir, which brings together hundreds of students from multiple schools to perform as a massed ensemble under the direction of guest conductors.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are able to develop and refine their musical and performance skills through participation in the festival.

This program was formerly known as the Arts Alive Choral Festival.
