Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony opens with a blazing fanfare representing the incredible power of fate and takes you on a musical journey like no other. Full to the brim with soulful Russian melodies and awe-inspiring orchestral grandeur, experience this Romantic tour de force in the hands of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, who will sweep you from the symphony’s dramatic first notes to its glorious finale.

Beethoven was confronting his own fate in his radiant and deeply personal Fourth Piano Concerto. Premiered alongside his famous Fifth Symphony, this was the last concerto Beethoven played at the piano himself, before his growing hearing loss made performing too difficult. Internationally lauded Australian-based pianist Konstantin Shamray, revered for his exhilarating performances and faultless technique, joins the WSO for this stirring concerto, which will see him reunite with Professor Dr Nicholas Milton AM, who conducted his winning performance at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2008. These are two astonishingly moving masterpieces you don’t want to miss.
